Bruce County Playhouse presents final show of the season – the return of The Kitchen Witches

Hot on the heels of one of its most successful plays, the musical comedy Karaoke Dreamer, Bruce County Playhouse is bringing back by popular demand the hilarious ‘The Kitchen Witches’.

The play was originally performed ten years ago when the Bruce County Playhouse first began and, now in celebration of its 10th anniversary, the play is being brought back.

Written by Caroline Smith, ‘The Kitchen Witches’ is a wonderful comedy about two cable tv chefs, Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two “mature” cable tv cooking show hostesses, who have hated each other for over 30 years – ever since Larry Biddle dated one and married the other.  The two should definitely NOT work together but are told they have to collaborate to increase the station’s ratings. The result?  The show becomes a ratings smash hit despite the chaos that ensues.

The show opens Thursday, August 8th, and is the final play of the season running through to August 24th.  There are four shows this opening weekend with a matinee on Sunday, August 11th.

Tickets are available at brucecountyplayhouse.com or at the Southampton Arts Centre Gallery most mornings.
In addition, an interactive pre-school (6mo-6yr) children’s music appreciation show is coming up this Saturday, August 10th at 10:00 a.m.. This one hour sing-along performance with Nyanna Flynn has been popular this summer with young families wanting to share some musical quality time with their children.  Tickets are also  available at brucecountyplayhouse.com – children must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration is still possible for the one week Summer Theatre camp beginning August 12th. This is a full-day camp directed by Stratford veteran Eli Ham. Contact Natalie at brucecountyplayhouse@gmail.com
