“This extremely generous corporate donation demonstrates Bruce Power’s ongoing commitment to ensuring our communities have access to local, high quality healthcare,” said GBHS President and CEO Lance Thurston.

Bruce Power donated $1 million to the GBHS Hospital Campaign in 2013 to help improve cancer care across the region, and to expand the ER and Lab at the Southampton Hospital.

“Among the most important issues for families in the community are the quality of health care and education, so we decided in 2018 to focus a significant portion of our Community Investment and Sponsorship budget on those areas to help local organizations continue to provide the best care for people,” said Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s President and CEO.

Bruce Power’s $850,000 donation is part of a $1.45 commitment to various healthcare Foundations over the next five years. Funding for the GBHS Foundations was announced this past weekend during the Owen Sound Attack hockey game at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
