Cham-bettes Christmas Home Tour 2025: The Eger Home – Serenity & The Loft Retreat

Serenity” & The Loft Retreat
Homeowner:  Rosemarie Eger
26 Marshall Place, Southampton Landing

Leaving a Frank Lloyd House inspired home on 75 acres in Mono Township, proved to be a huge challenge when it came to settling into my forever home. After a false start in Southampton, it was time to design the perfect home that would also be an income property. My granddaughters, Justine and Sydney of Partii Designs, Medford, were the architects. The fabulous builders: Alair Homes, the location: a lot in Southampton Landing with a fair bit of woodland at the back. It was an epic journey and resulted in a home I truly love.

Soaring ceilings welcome you into the combined living, dining space and the kitchen is not open plan, but oh so comfortable to cook in! The European windows and exterior doors bring in sunlight and provide terrific protection from winds and winter cold. The powder room is a nod to the past, with my grandmother’s sampler from 1892, and the repurposed vanity a wedding gift to my partner’s parents. A spacious mudroom exits to the guest landing, there’s also a master suite with a large walk-in closet. The interior finishes were curated by Kate Robinson of Home Town Designs and my ever-patient brother, Rainer Eger. Each artwork in the home tells a story. Check out the Christmas tree with its collection of decorations.

The 800 square foot apartment over the garage, known as “The Loft Retreat” has become a welcome destination for both guests and family. This self-contained unit is fully furnished. Just bring your suitcase!

This year, we managed to complete the fencing and get the gardens started, thanks to the efforts of Maggie Turcotte of Green Angle Gardening. The setup of the koi pond and beautiful stonework was the inspiration of Rick Collins of Instagreen Hydroseeding.

I feel so blessed to live in this amazing community and am delighted to welcome you to this European style home!
