The Marine Heritage Festival, that is held each summer in Southampton on the weekend before the Civic Holiday long weekend begins on the Friday (July 6th 2024) and continues through to Sunday (July 28th), is one of the most popular and biggest events of the summer in the region.
The free family weekend has become a summer staple thanks to the Marine Heritage Society that strives to keep the marine history alive in Southampton, the oldest port on the Bruce County shoreline, at the mouth of the Saugeen River.
On Saturday (July 27th), Pioneer Park at Southampton Harbour was a hive of activity with many displays and activities for all ages.
