To the Editor:
I have been appalled at the childish behaviour of adults during this pandemic.
I saw an elderly man {80s} yelling at the person responsible for the carts and the counting of persons entering the grocery store and refusing to cleanse his hands. I stepped in as the working person, who has challenges, was being told to “back off idiot”. I spoke to this man as I would an errant child but he proceeded to misbehave and complained throughout the store.
Also, the building that I live in has residents who are trying to find ways to break restrictions.
When I think back to the wars and the last pandemic a hundred years ago and how the citizens had shortages, etc. and came together, we are so blessed to be in a time when we can succeed with a vaccine that is going to win. We just need to behave like responsible members of our society however and we will create a new normal.
In a SPECIAL NOTE: SAVE OUR STORES and STAFF – GET TAKE OUT; SAVE OUR RESTAURANTS – CALL AND ORDER FROM PLACES THAT CAN GIVE YOU CURB-SIDE TAKE OUT; DONATE TO FOOD BANKS; BE KIND TO ALL WORKERS. Say thank you to staff for working through this time.
It’s amazing how quickly people have stopped being thankful.
Sincerely,
Jacquie Beale.
