At the Council meeting held April 24th, Saugeen Shores’ Economic Development Officer, Heather Hyde, presented a detailed marketing plan for the newly planned Innovation Park.
The 23-acre Park adjacent to the new Lamont Sports Complex was officially opened with the recent groundbreaking ceremony on April 13, 2023 and has 17 lots available that are expected to be ready for construction by the end of September.
According to Hyde, “The Innovation Park is being designed to attract those businesses that are within the clean energy sector. It will include areas such as hydrogen, solar, nuclear and those businesses that support clean energy and research and development into new technologies such as medical isotopes. The marketing plan being developed by the Town of Saugeen Shores will provide information on the park and highlight the opportunities, such as a Conference Centre, facilities for Education, Training and Skills Development , Research and Development uses and data-processing centres.”
“The Park’s location, only 25 kilometres from the worlds largest nuclear generating facility, Bruce Power, makes it ideally suited to host businesses related to the clean energy sector.”
Among the marketing tools is a video of the proposed site and the opportunities it will offer.
The Marketing plan also promotes an overview of the community of Saugeen Shores to provide potential investors with a broad scope of the surrounding municipality.
