“We’re grateful to have local businesses’ such as Miller Insurance step up to the plate and assist with further developing Lamont Sports Park as one of the finest outdoor baseball and recreation facilities in all of Southwestern Ontario,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau.

Keith Hopkins, shareholder at Miller Insurance, happily shared that Miller Insurance has been a proud part of the business community in Saugeen Shores and area for decades and staff wanted to have a presence in Lamont Sports Park. Hopkins praised the Town of Saugeen Shores for investing in such an important project in Saugeen Shores, providing ball amenities and an accessible playground and gathering place to Saugeen Shores and area residents.

Mike Myatt, the Town’s Vice Deputy Mayor, and Past Co-Chair of the Lamont Sports Park Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign was thrilled with the announcement from Miller Insurance. “This $10,000 donation will help to finance the cost of additional features at Lamont Sports park and further cements Lamont as the finest outdoor sports facility that this region has ever seen” stated Myatt.

Phase Two development is nearing completion with the accessible playground, central square, second parking lot and trail access from the west (near Walmart) to open mid to late July. The two additional ball diamonds (one hardball) and double batting cage with storage will open in 2025. Future years will include a maintenance facility, 200 seat pavilion and washroom facility.
