Sunday was the last day of celebration for the Marine Heritage Festival in Southampton.
The day started off with an ecumenical church service in the big tent at the Southampton Harbour when local ministers and congregations from all denominations participated in music and fellowship.
Following the service, ‘Look-up Theatre’ in a custom-made show for the Festival had the audience watching in awe as acrobats performed daring feats on aerial anchors, tumbling out of nets and soaring through the air. This dynamic troupe of young people has wowed audiences at the Owen Sound Busker Festival, The Roxy Theatre, Summerfolk Festival, and more.
The celebration continued in the afternoon when everyone had a chance to explore the inside of an historic range light where there the foghorn still sounds to help guide fishers and boaters into the safe harbour in Southampton during storms.
The final festival wind-up was the Sunday afternoon beer garden hosted by Southampton Yacht Club with music by ‘Johnny and the Appleseeds’, all at Southampton Harbour.
