For anyone who has never seen an Icelandic horse, Miramichi Farms is hosting an Open House to learn first-hand about this unique breed.
Icelandic horses are celebrated as one of the purest horse breeds in the world. For over 1,000 years, there has been no crossbreeding in Iceland. This, and the extraordinary isolation, has allowed the breed to maintain its purity and unique characteristics, distinct from any other horse breed.
These gentle creatures are also one of the most colourful breeds in the world with over 40 colours and up to 100 variations.
Kathy Pryde, founder of PRANCE therapeutic riding facility, has now delved into the world of the Icelandic horse and, on Sunday September 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., visitors are invited to Miramichi Farms to learn more about this unusual breed and see the Icelandic horse demonstrations.
