Mowbray’s Canadian Tire known for their community support

The First Responders’ annual Food and Toy Drive for the local Salvation Army Food Bank in Saugeen Shores was a resounding success on Saturday, December 9th, thanks to the generosity of the community and the first responders who volunteered their time.

They were at four locations, Port Elgin’s Mowbray’s Canadian Tire, Vanderwerf’s Independent Grocer, WalMart and Southampton Foodland.

The Mowbray family is well known for their support of the community and, just as the Drive started on Saturday morning, Mowbray’s Canadian Tire staff began to bring out carts filled with things to delight youngsters on Christmas morning.  From games to snow sliders, blankets to gloves, there were items appropriate for every age.

Each year, the Mowbray family supports the community’s First Responders Food and Toy Drive.  “We are so proud and grateful for the work that these men and women do in our community.” said owner Mike Mowbray. “So we are more than pleased to help them out for this worthy cause, particularly during these difficult economic times for families.”
