Pet of the Week: A beautiful gentle guy who needs love and patience

Grey Bruce Animal Shelter offers a safe place for pets that have no choices left.

“Sometimes, their owners have had no choice either. They, too, may have aged and had to move into a facility where their loved companions are not allowed or, in the final step of life, may have died leaving their pets behind,” says Shelter Manager, Deb Takeda.  “Whatever the reason, these faithful friends have no choice but to wait … wait for someone new to take them in and love them.”

The beautiful blind and deaf Ernie is just looking for a loving forever home … someone who understands his kind of situation and who has lots of love and patience.

Ernie was born blind and deaf/severely hearing impaired and so will require a special home where he can receive the special training and safe environment he requires in order to learn to be a dog. He is a bold little explorer and plays happily with his litter mates. He would do well with a calm older dog to help him navigate the world.

Sadly, his first adoption didn’t work out through no fault of his own and he is now back with us. Ernie is an active Aussie-Doodle puppy, (Australian Shepherd-Poodle X) with special needs. He is six months old, has been vet checked, vaccinated and neutered and he’s now looking for a home. He will grow into a medium-sized dog, the size of a standard Aussie or Border Collie. He will require professional clipping/grooming every 4-6 weeks as well.  Note: regular fees apply.
