Once again this year, Port Elgin Legion Branch 340 laid a special wreath of remembrance at the Cenotaph in Port Elgin on Sunday June 6th, D-Day and flags flew at half-mast in tribute to those who ‘paid the ultimate sacrifice’.

From the D-Day landings on June 6, 1944, through to the removal of the German Army at Falaise on August 21, Normandy marked the scene of some of Canada’s most significant military feats of WWII.
