As of September 15th (2022) Saugeen Shores Childcare Centre in Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores) is now open again and ready to welcome toddlers and pre-school children.
The Centre is dedicated to the nurturing and care of infants, stimulating early childhood education and play-based activities for children six months to 6 years of age. Saugeen Shores Childcare Centre aims to provide children with the best possible foundation on every level to inspire them for a lifetime of exploration and discovery.
The Centre now has two Supervisors, Beth Patton and Lauren Porter. Porter, says, “We are excited to open again after a temporary closure during which a deep hygienic cleaning was performed, and all other measures were taken to ensure a safe space for families’ most valued treasures – their children. Our highly qualified staff look forward to working with families in Saugeen Shores to provide the best possible child care in the area. This is an incredible facility that was designed for one purpose only – to provide the ultimate environment for child care.
When asked if Porter would use the Centre for her own three children, Porter responded, “Absolutely! It is a fantastic Centre where fun and learning happen together. For instance, our chef had the children learning how to make fruit jams and then sent jars of their achievements home to their families.”
On the administrative side, Porter adds that, “We are offering opportunities for those compassionate, caring individuals who are motivated to provide that best child care. We offer not only competitive wages but also the opportunity for staff to continue their education in early childhood careers through the Apprenticeship program. We are looking for passionate and caring RECE Teachers to join us in providing superior quality preschool education to children. Applicants must be self-motivated, patient, proactive, compassionate, well organized, and eager to teach and help children to succeed in achieving new developmental milestones! “We are also fortunate to be working with the County of Bruce as a primary child care facility,” says Porter. “The County has been extraordinary in providing oversight assistance with policies and regulations and they provide funding options for families.”
