Taylor, who worked in the Saugeen First Nation Environmental department, has created his art around Indigenous artifacts and archeological sites that have been discovered.

His first exhibition, the ‘Woodland People’, highlights the natural world in which he was surrounded and that connected animals, landscapes and his cultural heritage and teachings.

“I started this journey 10 years ago and didn’t know much about my culture until I started working in the field with a great team,” said Cameron. “I started planning this exhibit in 2019 and doing something that could get people excited about out culture and history. Every piece relates to  archeological sites in our territory and that are really close to me.”

“This exhibit is about connection,” said Bruce County Warden and Saugeen Shores Mayor, Luke Charbonnea.

“We are thrilled to host Taylor’s first exhibition,” said Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre Executive Director, Cathy McGirr.  “It is still a work in progress as there will be artifacts brought in that are related to each of his pieces.  The work of the giant Wooly Mammoth is actually a depiction of the one we currently have in the Museum.”
