Walk a Mile in Her Shoes annual fundraiser was held this year in both Port Elgin and Kincardine.
The weather cooperated as the walkers headed out in their ‘red high heels’ to walk a mile on Sunday, May 29th.

Three officers of Saugeen Shores Police Service, including Chief Kevin Zettel, traded their issue boots for red heels and walked the mile on both sides of Goderich Street in Port Elgin.

Among the walkers were also representatives from Bruce Power, Lucknow Kinsmen and individuals Mark Stefanich and James Lew.
The walk began and ended at the Queen’s Bar & Grill where walkers traded their shoes for ultra-sized red high heels.
The top winning team fundraiser was Bruce Power represented by Matt Stefanich and the individual top fundraiser was Lucknow Kinsmen’s Rob Searson.
“While the numbers are down this year as it is the first in-person after COVID, we are pleased with the results,” said Michelle Lamont of the Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey. “We had two sites this year, Kincardine and Port Elgin. Kincardine raised $5,500 and Port Elgin today raised $1,250. The Women’s House relies on donations to help us support the women and children who need our services.”
