Why is nature’s wildlife food being destroyed asks reader

My husband and I took  a walk along North Shore Road today, only to find that all the wild flowers along the multi-use path had been cut down ?!

WHY? WHY? WHY? Why does the Town insist on cutting down the wildflowers, in their prime, along the North Shore Road? We are supposed to be attracting butterflies, bumble bees and Mother Nature has provided the food for them. Why as humans do we feel it is necessary to destroy our environment??  Can someone give me ONE good reason??  Shame!

PS.  This also helps with erosion. Plantings are better than adding more big rocks.
