The Wismer House in Port Elgin donated $635 to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation from the Slo-Pitch weekend Home Run Derby fundraiser that was held in August.

Carver donated the funds by pledging $5 for every home run during the slo-pitch fun but competitive weekend.  In addition, the Wismer House donated $50 gift certificates to the top home-run sluggers in each of the divisions (A,B & C) for both Men’s and Women’s leagues.

Each year, the Women’s Leagues Most Valuable Players (MVPs) receive a special prize and, this year, thanks to Gord’s Pro Shop, each MVP winner received a special backpack: Division A:  Tracy Palusky; Division B:  Alana Bernard; Division C:  Melissa Pettigrew

The league is already planning for next year’s event.
