With 1 in 120,000 chances, it was done right here in Saugeen Shores on Monday, with a team of ladies, playing for the first time together: Skip Donna Beechey, Vice Lise Leonard, 2nd Carol-Ann Slade, lead Jo-Anne Kupiec.

The thought of attaining a perfect score in one end by scoring the maximum value of eight points by having all eight rocks remaining in the house (the target) is almost unfathomable.
All other games on the ice came to a halt as they witnessed the spectacle unfold in front of their eyes.
To compare the odds, the chance of hitting a hole-in-one in golf is 1 in 12,500. The odds of finding a pearl in an oyster is 1 in 10,000.
Eight-enders are so rare that the Canadian Curling Association has a special award to recognize any eight-ender scored in the country.
These ladies became very well known instantly among the whole club being congratulated and hugged for days.
“The support is special at the club. Southampton Curling Club is a wonderful community to belong to,” said the team.
