At Monday night’s meeting on February 13th (2023), Saugeen Shores Council received a comprehensive easy-to-read 2022 Annual Report prepared by Town Communication Specialist, Brent Lanthier.
The report sets out achievements and projects of 2022 carried out by Saugeen Shores staff. “I have to point out that the staff live here – they are our neighbours, our friends and fellow taxpayers who care deeply about the community,” said Lanthier.
“This is a great report,” said Councillor John Divinski. “It is easy to read and I want to say congratulations to our front-line responders who make this community a better place to live, work and play.”
“This document highlights all the hard work we have done this year,” said Kara Van Myall, Chief Administrative Officer. “It also helps fulfill our promise to residents to make our work visible and to keep the administration accountable to the community.”
The document breaks down the Town’s accomplishments by Department and Division, and reports on their advancement. It also uses infographics to illustrate key numbers and provides comments from senior leaders and management on their departments.
“This report is an excellent summation of 12 months of planning, engagement, and execution of the Town’s key priorities,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “I want to thank staff for presenting this information in a clear and concise manner. I encourage everyone to read what the municipality is doing to ensure our community stays strong and prosperous. If Council looks good, it is because of the work our staff does on the ground and highlighting the work that is done over the course of a year. They are the most important part of making our community a great place to live.””
The document will serve as a template for the Town to expand upon in 2023. This is when staff will insert its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to show progress on major goals more precisely, as well as where the organization can improve.
