Cham-bettes Christmas Home Tour 2025: The Smith Home

The Smith Home, built in 2016 by Barry’s Construction after the original house on the lot burned down, is located on a corner lot close to Nodwell Park and minutes away from the Port Elgin beach. This raised bungalow combines creative design ideas with warm and inviting decor. Homeowners Kim and Doug moved to the area in 2022.

The home’s exterior showcases a charming blend of stone and wood, offering fantastic curb appeal. A welcoming foyer leads down the hall and opens up to a bright living area with a cozy gas fireplace, perfect for holiday gatherings with friends and family. The dining and kitchen areas are seamlessly integrated, with hardwood floors running throughout the space. Large windows and sliding doors in the dining area provide easy access to the backyard and let in plenty of natural light.

The main floor features a spacious primary suite with a large bathroom, powder room, laundry room and an office. The basement includes two additional bedrooms and a cozy family room with a second fireplace and bar area where people congregate.

Kim’s love of the holiday season with all the joy it brings to family and friends is apparent in creating a welcoming environment. Her exceptional decorating and crafting skills are highlighted in her Christmas decor.
