The recent ‘Hang a Basket for Health Care’ sale at Southampton Foodland resulted in a sizeable donation to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The sale ran for four days from May 30th to June 2 at Foodland, with all hanging baskets on sale at $9.99 with $1 from each going toward the donation of $728.
New Foodland owner, Martino Catalano, says he is amazed at the community support. “It’s the community that came out in such an incredible show of support for the sale and it’s the customers who made the difference. Health care close to home is extremely important and it’s obvious how this community feels about their local hospital. We were glad to be able to help this great cause.”
Tracy Murray, Foundation Executive Director, said the Foundation was extremely pleased to receive the donation. “This town continues to support the hospital and its equipment needs and, even though Martino is new to the community, he has already stepped in to help.”
