Medical Device Reprocessing Department opens newly renovated space

Brightshores Health System officially opened the renovated Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) with a ribbon-cutting celebration today.

The updated space includes an expansion of the existing footprint and critical components that will improve the quality and safety of medical device reprocessing, a new surgical waiting area, and a new scope reprocessing area. These renovations will complement the state-of-the-art technology, implemented in 2022.

Having updated technology such as our instrument tracking system, along with our new satellite reprocessing area in the operating room, ensures our team can continue providing exemplary reprocessing services. This was a team effort to make this happen and we are thrilled to continue the good work our patients are accustomed to.” said Cara Singh, Director of Surgery, Women and Child Program.
