Obituary: Curtis John Sprague – October 6, 2023

Curtis John Sprague passed quietly on Thursday, the 6th of October at the age of 89.

An outdoors-man at heart, his fondness for canoeing, camping, hunting and fishing endured his entire life.  His other joy was tinkering with construction, and one only has to drive down Albert Street in Southampton to witness the spectacular results he achieved on the old Masonic Lodge as he transformed it from a house into a home.  He subsequently spent countless hours the past few years crafting the perfect garden and even more trying to keep it free from weeds.

He is survived by the one true love of his life; his wife of 65 years Barbara.  Together they raised three children; Matthew, Lee and Summer and six grandchildren Mackenzie, Sydney, Andrew, Isabella, Emily and Peter all of whom will dearly miss this incredibly kind and wonderful father and grandfather. Curtis will be fondly remembered by Lisa Sprague, Andy Stevens and Vlad Lucuta as well as his extended Sprague, McGregor and Holmes family.

A celebration of life for Curtis will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 1 pm at the band stand at Fairy Lake in Southampton. A tree will be planted to remember him by.

Barbara will hold a reception at her house from 1:30 onwards. Everyone is welcome

In lieu of flowers or donations, it would be appreciated if you would plant a tree in his memory.
