Rotary virtual East Coast Kitchen fundraiser a virtual success

The first every virtual fundraiser by Rotary Clubs was a virtual success!

It was a virtual East Coast Kitchen party that was celebrated in kitchens everywhere. Southampton Rotary hoped to raise $5,000 but easily doubled the goal with donations still coming in until Saturday, June 6th.

According to Southampton Rotarian past-President Sylvia Sheard, “A quarter of the households were from Saugeen Shores and we are so excited that our first virtual fundraiser went so well!”

Overall, the local Rotary District raised just over $60,000 as 812 households joined on-line to view the show and celebrated in their kitchens with more expected to be donated.

Funds raised will go toward Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Chapman Hospice House Grey Bruce and Rotary for other causes.

Those who missed the party in their own kitchens can still donate until Saturday.
