Saugeen Shores official list of 2022 Election candidates certified

Saugeen Shores now has its Official List of Certified Candidates for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections.

Candidates could submit their nominations from May 1st, 2022, until 2 p.m. on Nomination Day Friday, August 19, 2022.

Four of the candidates are acclaimed and there are 10 candidates running for the three remaining Council positions.

The list of certified candidates is:

“On behalf of the Town of Saugeen Shores, I’d like to thank all of the candidates for putting their names forward,” said Deputy Clerk Tracey Edwards.  “Elections are a fundamental way for citizens to have a say in how their government functions.  This is especially true at the municipal level where Council and staff work on policy that directly responds to the needs of residents everyday.”

The election will take place from Monday, October 17th at 8:30 a.m. to Monday, October 24th at 8:00 p.m.  Eligible residents will be able to vote via computer, or by telephone.

To be eligible to vote in the municipal election, you must be:

  • a resident of Saugeen Shores, or
  • you or your spouse own land in Saugeen Shores
  • a Canadian citizen
  • at least 18 years of age, and
  • not otherwise prohibited from voting
