Stunt driving results in four drivers charged

Four individuals are facing charges over the weekend for exceeding the speed limit and being stopped for stunt driving.

On May 31, 2024, at 8:55 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of a vehicle passing unsafely and exceeding the speed limit. The vehicle was located on Bruce Road 10 in South Bruce Peninsula. The officer observed the vehicle travelling 158km/hr in a 70 zone. A 21-year-old from Concord was charged with, drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed and pass – roadway not clear – approaching traffic.

On June 1, 2024, at 8:45 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 6 in Northern Bruce Peninsula when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at 141 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. A 44-year-old from Brampton was charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed.

 

On June 2, 2024, at 4:52 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 6 in South Bruce Peninsula when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at 142 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. The officer noticed that the driver had the eye glass condition (condition X) on their licence and the driver was not wearing any glasses. A 33-year-old from Mississauga was charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed and drive motor vehicle in contravention with conditions.

On June 2, 2024, at 5:50 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 6 in South Bruce Peninsula when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at 137km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone. A 29-year-old from Brantford was charged with, drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed.
