To the Editor:
Last Thursday, my wife Nancy was not feeling well. I went to the drug store to see if they had any Covid test kits, they did not. I then went to the hospital, the kits are no longer available.
It was around supper time, and the waiting area was empty. The nurse asked me what the problem was, I told her and she asked where we lived, then said “go get your wife”.
On our return and after checking her blood, heart rate, etc., we were told to have a seat, “the doctor will see you shortly”. An ambulance then arrived with some folks with injuries sustained from the pick up truck accident on Carlisle and the Nurse came out to tell us that we would have to wait, no problem.
Some time afterwards, the doctor said that my wife had an infection and was dehydrated and that they would set her up with an IV, after the second IV after 11.00 p.m., she was discharged. During this time, the shift nurse was with my wife most of the time, providing excellent support.
We have recently lost our doctor and have also signed up for monthly donations to the hospital, suggesting that others do the same.
Today St. Paddy’s Day, her birthday, she is still taking things easy, but doing well.
