Saugeen District Senior School Musical Theatre performed its initial showing for local elementary grades 7/8 students on Tuesday, June 4th.
The Addams Family, A new Musical, is fast-paced with many solo performances and a live pit orchestra made up of former music teachers, all professional musicians, and students.
The costumes, lighting and stage effects added to the show’s professionalism along with subtle but hilarious humour.
This is a production that should not be missed. Those of a certain era will remember the Addams Family tv show with all its characters. The casting of the SDSS production was nothing short of perfection when it came to performances by the famed Morticia, her husband Gomez, children Wednesday and Pugsley, brother Lurch and grandma. The supporting cast of ‘zombies’ in their creative costumes and make-up added to the line-up of characters.

Under the direction of Nancy-Jean Lahn and Musical Director, Kerrie Lynn Boys, the show was brilliantly performed by SDSS students with several show-stopping solos. These are truly talented students and the hard work by everyone involved has paid off in this professional production.
The show runs from the opening tonight through to Saturday, June 8th (including a Sat. matinee) and tickets are still available.
