Time to Light the Way and keep health care close to home

As with many other organizations, Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation fundraising, is being affected by the current Canada Post strike.

Supporting local health care is more crucial than ever as several Emergency Departments throughout the region have experienced closures and keeping health care close to home is critical.

The province does not provide funding for equipment and, therefore, maintaining quality care is dependent on the generosity of those who understand that a local hospital is vital to a community.  Whether a year-round resident or summer visitor, local hospital care can be a lifesaver, so it’s time to … LIGHT THE WAY!

The annual Radiothon held at 97.9 theBruce in Port Elgin is a major FUNdraiser through community donations.  The fun in FUNdraising is all about … TUNE in, CALL in or DROP in with your donation.

Throughout the day, December 12th, there are prizes for those in-person ‘DROP/WALK-in donations at the radio station and ‘Power Hour Giveaways’. The entire day from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. is filled with great music, inspiring stories and, for Walk-ins, the possibility to go ‘on-air’.

Reach out to info@smhfoundation.ca to share your story or coordinate a FUNdraising challenge!
