Customers in Port Elgin have been experiencing Post Office disruptions in service and irregular hours over the last week.

There have been unanticipated staffing challenges, necessitating the outlet to recruit staff from other areas of the region for coverage.
According to a recent release, “… the local team is doing everything it can to work on a resolution to restore regular hours of operation but cannot provide a concrete date for a full return to service at this time.”
Until staffing issues are dealt with, there may be days where the post office is closed early, and hours are disrupted.
For the remainder of this week, the Post Office will also close daily over lunch hour. However, parcel pick-up on Saturday, August 30th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. will continue to address backlogs that may be caused.
Information is posted on the door of the Post Office.
Customers who need urgent retail services and find the post office closed, can also visit the postal outlet in Shoppers Drug Mart at 1199 Goderich St, Port Elgin.
“While we work this out, we are urging patience and respect for our retail staff from the public when visiting the post office. Customers who wish to lodge a complaint or inquiry should call 1-866-607-6301.”
