Southampton Legion Branch 155: 2026 News

Legion Branch 155 Supports Special Olympics Athletes with $5,000 Donation:

The members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155 have once again demonstrated that service to the community remains at the heart of everything the Legion does.

At a recent presentation, Branch 155 donated $5,000 to Special Olympics Ontario to help send three local athletes to the Special Olympics finals in Medicine Hat this summer.

The donation will help cover travel and accommodation expenses, ensuring these dedicated athletes have the opportunity to represent their community on the national stage.

“Supporting organizations like Special Olympics is exactly what the Legion is about,” said Branch 155 Vice President Paul Johnston . “The courage, determination, and spirit shown by these athletes is inspiring, and we are proud to play a small part in helping them reach this important milestone.”

This contribution reflects the Legion’s long-standing commitment to service—not only to veterans and their families, but also to the broader community. Through fundraising efforts, volunteer work, and partnerships with local groups, Branch 155 continues to make a meaningful difference in Southampton and beyond.

Community Street Party Fundraiser Planned for August 29:

The Legion is already preparing for its next major community event: a Street Party Fundraiser in support of local youth soccer, to be held on Friday, August 29.

The event will bring together residents, businesses, volunteers, and community organizations for an evening of music, food, a pig roast, and fundraising. An open mic segment is also planned, so dust off your instruments and get your garage band ready to show what you can do.

Branch 155 is currently seeking volunteers and community groups to help make the event a success. Anyone interested in lending a hand or participating is encouraged to contact the Legion.

Free Legion Membership for 2026:

In an effort to welcome new members and strengthen community involvement, Branch 155 is offering free Legion membership for 2026.

Joining the Legion is an excellent way to support veterans, participate in local initiatives, and become part of an organization dedicated to remembrance, service, and community spirit.
