Labour Councils taking a stand

The Ontario government of Doug Ford is taking a five month vacation away from the Ontario Legislature.  MPPs may work in their constituencies during this time, but there is no doubt that Labour Councils will be working in these constituencies over the five months.

The Ford government has spent its first year taking Ontario backwards. Everything from the environment, occupational health and safety and labour law to education and health care have suffered at the hands of a leader and a caucus that proves over and over that they “are not for the people”.

Labour Councils all around Ontario are making sure that Conservative MPP’s know that they are not going anywhere. The Grey Bruce Labour Council is staking its place in this activism. A 4PM rally is planned at, MPP Lisa Thompson’s Kincardine office on July 16th.  Summer may be a time when numbers at rallies may be lower, but the Grey Bruce Labour Council and our affiliates will continue to stand together this summer and beyond if only one flag stands out or one hundred flags stand in unity in defiance of the most regressive Ontario government in a generation.

All union affiliates and concerned citizens are invited to the July 16th rally. The rally is set to run from 4-5PM with an opportunity to enjoy some pizza at Victoria Park immediately following the rally.
