Following the Town’s decision to terminate the 50 lease agreement with the Cedar Crescent Village (CCV) project, Port Elgin resident Patricia Corrigan-Frank was interviewed by Scott Miller of CTV London news (at 8:03 of the video below).
Corrigan-Frank is founder of the Port Elgin Beach Preservers, an organization that has objected to the beach project since its inception in 2019. The Beach Preservers’ objections to the project included the Town approving a 50-year lease with a private organization and the size of the development on the public beach.

The original application by a ‘consortium’ of local business people has been dragging on for several years. In June, 2022, a 50-year lease agreement was approved and, on March 29, 2023, the Town gave final approval for a building permit.
After several time extensions by the Town of Saugeen Shores, there still has been no construction.
In a March 2nd (2026) statement issued by the Town of Saugeen Shores, “… the Town is now taking steps to assert its rights under the Lease and Site Works & Servicing Agreement, which includes the Town’s right to terminate the Lease … next steps involve court intervention.”
