Community Foundation Grey Bruce (CFGB) is seeking candidates for the position of Grants Coordinator. The experience and education required for this role can be varied, we are looking for someone who shares our vision that everyone in Grey Bruce benefits from a vital, healthy and resilient community. Created in 1994, Community Foundation Grey Bruce is a registered Canadian charity that is dedicated to fostering community well being by fostering open discussion about local need, sharing knowledge, and growing endowments to provide strategic granting and support to a wide range of non-profit organizations. In 2023, the Foundation granted $840k to charities and non-profits in the region to support all aspects of community life. CFGB also provided over $80k in scholarships, bursaries and awards to regional students. Recently, CFGB has also initiated social impact investing offering local support to social enterprise and community-bolstering agencies. Other charitable activities of the Foundation range from offering rent supplements to youth in housing precarity to environmental support for nature-based solutions for stormwater management through Lake Huron Forever.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Grants Coordinator organizes and facilitates all elements of the Foundation’s granting programs including community grants; capital grants; education funding for Grey Bruce students; and other special funding for granting that becomes available from time to time. In addition, the Grants Coordinator supports the Foundation’s relationships with the charitable sector in Grey Bruce through community outreach, networking and professional development events and offerings. The Grants Coordinator supports strategic granting aligned with knowledge about community wellbeing garnered through the Foundation’s Vital Signs reports.
The Grant Coordinator will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in community-based research, granting and collaboration. Three to five years of service in the non-profit sector with philanthropic service or development is preferred. Capacity to provide leadership to teams, demonstrating outstanding inter-personal skills and excellent communication abilities both verbal and written are sought. Contemporary technological competencies are desired including Office 365, email, database and fund management software.
