The title and presenting sponsors have now been announced for the 2023 Ontario Tankard/ Scotties which will be held at the Plex in Port Elgin from January 23rd through 29th, 2023.
Once again the event will be known as the Port Elgin Chrysler 2023 Ontario Tankard/ Scotties presented by Bruce Power.
Event chair Doug Flowers says, “It is great to have our two major sponsors back for another event. It just shows how impressed they were with last year’s event. I am sure that having the support of these two great corporate citizens just gives us even more credibility. “
The 2022 event that was held in Port Elgin featured the Ontario Tankard only, won by Team Howard. However. this year, both the Ontario Tankard for men, and Ontario Scotties for Women will be held simultaneously at the Plex. In fact, Team Rachel Homan has already qualified for it.
Homan is a former Canadian junior champion, a three-time Canadian national champion, and the 2017 world champion, all as a skip. She was also the skip of the Canadian women’s curling team at the 2018 Winter Olympics and has been named the fourth-greatest Canadian female curler in history by TSN.
